Being
Specialists
As
the vinicultural world evolves, new constraints appear. Other domains
must be carefully analyzed and deserve the attention of a third party.
The
ICV (Wine Cooperative Institute) has developed skilled abilities to ensure
quality both at a national and international level, to bring discerning
answers to everyone’s needs on specialized oenological fields.
These
abilities are organized in Departments. Engineers intervene at the customers’
request on the whole ICV sphere of activity.
Constantly improving
To adapt to the continuous
evolution of wines and technologies, to create each day a modern oenology,
the ICV possesses specific and effective research means. The ICV aims
at developing competitive advantages for all members and customers on
three main lines :
- Applied research.
It is designed to answer the questions concretely asked in cellars.
"When and how can one aerate to stimulate a dull fermentation?" "Are
these aromas due to brettanomyces?" "At which stage of polyphenolic
maturity does one need to harvest to have tannins of quality?"

- Technical support.
On the advice of the oenologist consultant, the R&D Department
can achieve a mini-production with the winegrower’s grapes. The Department
will mobilize all means in its power to solve any particular problem
or develop improvements.

- A scientific
and technical vigilance. Structured round an international review
of the press, a regular contact with basic research, regular tastings
of wines distributed in France and abroad, its mission is to be on the
lookout , to watch for evolutions in terms of consumption, know-how
and techniques.
Being
partners.
As a consulting firm
at the service of everyone and a participant to changes, the ICV intervenes
in synergy with professional organizations and administrations to improve
regulations and oenological practices.
This is one of its
characteristics which puts it at the junction of many files, in the heart
of current events such as analytic standards, oenological practices, food
approach and environmental problems.
The ICV is always
attending worldwide events : VINEXPO, SITEVI, SITEVINITECH, MONDIAVITI,
and VINITALY. The ICV gives lectures during these conferences and intervenes
with students coming from several oenological training centers.
The ICV technical
experience benefits to the :
